Fiat Farm is the name of the Ford Family's Farm on the High Plain's of Southern KS. Fiat is the latin expression of the words given by the Blessed Virgin Mary to the Angel Gabriel at the Annunciation. It is an expression of total joyful self-surrender to the Will of God. In our own journey as a family we have had to constantly give our own fiat when things haven't gone as we thought they should. Thus the name of our farm is an expression of our own desire to follow God's will for us.
As Catholics we believe we are called to "earn our bread by the sweat of our brow." We find great fulfillment in living out our faith in a rural environment. We seek in our own daily lives to imitate the Holy Family of Nazareth in all that we do. Their example of patient obedience and humility is our inspiration day by day as we try to farm in an often difficult environment.
