Today was an unseasonably warm day here on the farm. It probably hit the mid-50's and I spent most of the day walking a tiller up and down what used to be our side yard. I have an old Montgomery Ward tiller that I have nicknamed "The Beast." I'm not certain if I walked it or it walked me. There is something greatly satisfying in tilling soil that hasn't been broken before. There is a smell and feel of freshly worked ground that is truly beautiful. We will soon be planting seeds for the season. The days are still smelling of winter, but I am certain that soon the smells of spring will be wafting through the air. What a beautiful day to be a farmer.
